Apple iOS beta users will now see a new user interface when they place or receive a call on the messaging app. WhatsApp has also come under regulatory pressure in Germany and was likely expecting the numbers of countries objecting to the change to increase. WhatsApp has released a new 2.21.140.11 beta update, which adds a new user interface for calls as well as a new feature for group calls. This feature allows users to make stickers without the help of third party apps and directly on the messaging app. While not directly related, WhatsApp had come under serious pressure in India for the change of terms. WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new update that allows iPhone users to create stickers using the pictures saved in the phone. The reality, of course, is likely that the action being taken in India, where WhatsApp is now challenging new government rules that risk it having to compromise its fabled end-to-end encryption in its largest market, has prompted a rethink.
